About MadMunky
MadMunky is a multidisciplinary Bitcoin artist, woodworker, and privacy advocate whose practice merges craftsmanship, sound, and cypherpunk philosophy. As one of the founding voices of the #2140movement, he explores free-market principles, digital sovereignty, and cultural resistance to centralized systems through art and education.
Working primarily with wood, resin, and mixed media, MadMunky creates sculptural works that reflect Bitcoin’s ethos and time horizon, often referencing block data, monetary history, and ideological critique. His “Manifesto 2140” series includes pieces such as Nakamoto (2023), Stripper (2023), and Bitcoin Club / Fuck da Banks (2024), combining oak, epoxy, and hardwax oil finishes with embedded conceptual narratives tied to Bitcoin’s block creation era.
Beyond physical artworks, he integrates sound, video, and process documentation to expand the experience of creation itself. Through platforms like 2140.wtf and community engagement on Nostr, MadMunky builds educational spaces aimed at helping others translate Bitcoin’s ideas into practical cultural expression and long-term thinking.
