Biography
About Gareth Eckley
Gareth is a gemstone and jewelry artist with a lifelong practice centered on carving precious materials and creating symbolic, story-driven works. Drawing inspiration from Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Salvador Dalí, Wassily Kandinsky, ancient Egyptian design, and the natural world, his practice blends historical aesthetics with geometric structure and material precision.
His “Bitcoin Gem Artwork” series incorporates sacred geometry, the Golden Ratio, and references to Nikola Tesla’s numerical concepts (3, 6, 9) as a conceptual framework for exploring order, structure, and value. Using gemstones as a central medium, he treats each piece as both sculpture and narrative object—designed to communicate layered meaning through form, material, and craftsmanship.
A significant part of his career has been devoted to bespoke portrait gemstones and remembrance jewelry, created in collaboration with families to preserve personal histories through carved stone and engraved detail. His work has been commissioned and collected internationally, including notable public and private figures. Across his practice, Gareth focuses on permanence, craftsmanship, and the symbolic power of natural materials as a way to express ideas of value, memory, and continuity.
