Chiefmonkey

Chiefmonkey is a Bitcoin artist creating laser-cut works focused on Bitcoin, nostr, and the cypherpunk movement.

He is the honorary founder of scarce.city, where he seeded the artist community and originated the idea of Bitcoin-based auctions using Lightning. He is also the founder of Plebeian Market, a free and open-source project pioneering peer-to-peer decentralized marketplaces built on the nostr protocol.

Using laser-cutting techniques, he produces layered pieces that combine text, symbolism, and structure. His work reflects themes such as sovereignty, privacy, and resistance to centralized control, expressed through detailed compositions and limited-edition releases.

His pieces are created with an emphasis on scarcity, discipline, and intention, aligning with the values behind Bitcoin. Each work is designed to stand as both a visual statement and a reflection of the principles it represents.

Chiefmonkey has exhibited at Bitcoin events including Bitcoin Conference San Francisco, Bitcoin Conference Miami, Bitcoin Amsterdam, and BitFest Manchester, where his work connects with a global community focused on Bitcoin and its long-term impact.

As a founding member of Gamma Markets, Chiefmonkey continues to work with his team at Plebeian to build the infrastructure needed to support local circular economy communities and drive the shift from globalization to localization.
