Biography
About RYR
RYR is a painter and visual artist whose work combines influences from graffiti, street art, and contemporary mixed media practices. Since discovering Bitcoin through fellow artist ZETRA, he has developed a distinctive artistic language centered around themes of money, value, technology, and changing financial systems.
A defining element of his practice is the use of handcrafted paper made from shredded fiat currencies, transforming traditional symbols of value into entirely new artistic materials. Through layered compositions combining collage, paint, typography, and altered banknotes, RYR creates textured works that explore the tension between physical and evolving monetary systems.
Typography also plays an important role within his work, often incorporating Bitcoin-inspired phrases, hidden meanings, and coded references that reward closer observation. His compositions frequently function as visual puzzles, inviting viewers to engage more deeply with the work and uncover embedded ideas and narratives.
Rooted in graffiti culture, RYR's work maintains the raw and immediate energy of street art while expanding into contemporary materials and larger conceptual themes. His work has been featured in the Bitcoin Museum in Nashville and included in a number of notable private collections.
